◆ Equipped with an ultrasonic motor "Nano USM" for high-speed AF
This product is also equipped with Canon's proprietary ultrasonic motor, Nano USM, which enables high-speed autofocus, following the EF-S18-135mm F3.5-5.6 IS USM (released in March 2016). This significantly improves the focus lens drive speed when shooting still images and ensures smooth autofocus when shooting video.
◆ LCD screen that displays various information and a luxurious exterior design
For the first time in the EF lens series, an LCD screen is used that displays various shooting information such as shooting distance, focal length, and the amount of camera and lens shake, improving the convenience of shooting. In addition, the camera adopts a sophisticated design, including a flat switch panel that feels integrated with the main body, a luxurious glossy black ring, and a matte finish.
◆Improved optical performance and IS (image stabilization) effect
The optimal layout of the optical system has achieved even higher image quality than previous models. In addition, the adoption of a UD*1 lens with a special optical system has suppressed the occurrence of chromatic aberration of magnification, which causes color bleeding, achieving high image quality throughout the entire screen, even at the periphery. Furthermore, the optimal control of IS has significantly improved the image stabilization effect from 2.5 stops in previous models to 4 stops*2 in terms of shutter speed.
