- Approximately 20% lighter at 547g than the previous model (*2), and 10.1mm shorter in overall length at 111.5mm. Compact and lightweight, it supports nimble and agile shooting

- A total of five aspherical lenses, including three XA (extreme aspherical) lenses, are used to achieve even higher image quality.
- Nano AR Coating II significantly reduces ghosting and flare for high-contrast, clear images with good definition
- One Super ED glass element and two ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements significantly reduce chromatic aberration

■ Improved video performance to meet the needs of video creators
- The latest lens design technology suppresses focusing breathing and axis misalignment and focus shift caused by zooming. It minimizes fluctuations in the angle of view and shaking, enabling smooth image expression.
- By adopting an XD (extreme dynamic) linear motor and the latest aperture unit, operation noise and vibration during video shooting are suppressed.
- Equipped with three operation rings for focus, zoom, and aperture, allowing smooth manual operation
- Aperture ring can be switched between click ON/OFF
- Equipped with an "iris lock switch" to prevent accidental operation of the aperture ring

■ AF performance that brings out the high-speed performance of the body
- Equipped with four high-thrust XD linear motors and a floating focus mechanism. Thrust efficiency has been greatly improved, and AF speed has been increased by up to approximately twice the conventional speed (*1).
・When combined with the α1, high-speed continuous shooting of up to approximately 30 frames per second (＊2) is possible.
- By adopting "Linear Response MF", manual focus can be controlled according to the photographer's intentions.
